2008 Season - Week 5
Trading Day 1 For those who need to replace injured players (like Aaron who needs to replace the number 1 pick in the draft (QB - Tom Brady) or to replace players who are just not performing Trading Day 1 is just around the corner. It will be at HQ this Sunday at 4:30pm before the week 6 fixtures ie prior to the Sky doubleheader of Oakland @ New Orleans & Green Bay @ Seattle with Chicago @ Atlanta & Philadelphia @ San Francisco on the red button.
How Trading Days Work
A reminder for everyone else of how this important day will work. Firstly this is one of only two times when you can make changes to your team. Trading Day 2 will be before the week 11 fixtures on Sunday 16th November. On Sunday we all give up any players we wish to cut in the order of lowest scoring owner to highest. Then the lowest scoring owner will select 1 replacement player followed by second lowest and so on. Once the highest scorer has selected a replacement player we return to the lowest and so on until all rosters are full again. You may select players dropped by others but you must end trading with a legal squad (1 x Coach, 1 x Kicker, 1 x QB, 2 x RB, 3 x Receivers). If you cut a Franchise player you must still pay him until his contract is up eg if Chief cuts QB Vince Young (3 points and injured) he will still have to pay him his $0.5m salary until the end of his contract and so will only have up to $9.5m to spend on his players until the end of the year. So running from worst to first the Trading order will be:- 1 Marcus, 2 Ron, 3 Dave G, 4 Aaron, 5 George, 6 Cheryl, 7 Mark B, 8 Mark H, 9 AP, 10 Daz, 11 Johnny, 12 Chief, 13 John, 14 Andy H, 15 Wayne and 16 David S. (last year David S chose first so he’s had a great turn around in just one year). If you intend to come to HQ please let me know. If you intend to trade but can’t get here let me know and we’ll work out the best way (phone or email). If you don’t want to trade anybody, do nothing. It’s that simple.

I have re-attached the details of the 11 men who have been chosen for nomination. Select your favourite 5 players (in order) and get them back to me asap. The 4 highest scorers will join the selected band of BUMS Hall of Fame players.
